Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
