Al-Masad

Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
