Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
