Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
