Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 he shall roast at a Flaming Fire, 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
