Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
