Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth did not benefit him in the least, nor did whatever he earned. 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
