Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth did not benefit him in the least, nor did whatever he earned. 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 and his wife, laden with firewood 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
