Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 And his wife, the bearer of fuel, 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
