Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
