Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
