Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 He will be roasted in the fire, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
