BEHOLD, We have bestowed upon thee from on high this divine writ, setting forth the truth, so that thou may judge between people in accordance with what God has taught thee. Hence, do not contend with those who are false to their trust, 105 And seek God's forgiveness, for God is surely forgiving and kind. 106 And do not plead on behalf of those who are dishonest to themselves. Surely God does not love one who is treacherous and sinful. 107 They feel ashamed before men but do not feel ashamed before God, despite His being present with them when they plot at night, uttering things of which He does not approve; and indeed God is fully aware of what they do. 108 Behold! you are they who (may) plead for them in this world's life, but who will plead for them with Allah on the resurrection day, or who shall be their protector? 109 He who does evil or wrongs himself and then asks forgiveness of Allah will find that Allah is the Forgiver, the Most Merciful. 110 And whoever earns sin, he earns it only against himself. And Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise. 111 And whoever commits a mistake or a sin, then blames it on someone innocent has indeed burdened himself with infamy and a manifest crime. 112
