The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful 1

Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; 2 the Merciful, the Most Merciful, 3 Sovereign of the Day of Recompense. 4 Thee only we serve; to Thee alone we pray for succour. 5 Show us the straight way, 6 The way of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, not of those who have been condemned [by Thee,] nor of those who go astray! 7

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
