Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
All praise is for Allah alone, Who created the heavens and the earth, and brought into being light and darkness, and yet those who have rejected the call of the Truth ascribe others to be equals to their Lord. 1 He it is Who hath created you from clay, and hath decreed a term for you. A term is fixed with Him. Yet still ye doubt! 2 He is God in the heavens and the earth. He knows what you hide and bring out into the open, and knows what you earn (of good and evil). 3 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they turn away therefrom. 4 So they have indeed rejected the truth when it came to them; therefore the truth of what they mocked at will shine upon them. 5 Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And We sent [rain from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them a generation of others. 6 Had We sent down to you a Book on parchment and they touched it with their own hands, those who disbelieved would say: 'This is nothing but plain magic' 7 They say: "How is it no angel was sent down to him?" Had We sent an angel down the matter would have come to end, and they would have had no respite. 8 Had we appointed him (Our messenger) an angel, We assuredly had made him (as) a man (that he might speak to men); and (thus) obscured for them (the truth) they (now) obscure. 9 Other Messengers have been mocked before you. But those who scoffed at them were encompassed by that they had mocked' 10
