Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All praises and thanks be to Allah, Who (Alone) created the heavens and the earth, and originated the darkness and the light, yet those who disbelieve hold others as equal with their Lord. 1 It is He Who has created you from clay, and then decreed a term for you; and it is a fixed promise before Him, yet you still doubt! 2 And He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth; He knows your secret (thoughts) and your open (words), and He knows what you earn. 3 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord but that therefrom they have been backsliders. 4 For they had denied the truth when it came to them, but there is going to reach them the news of what they used to ridicule. 5 Have they not seen how many a generation before them We have destroyed whom We had established on the earth such as We have not established you? And We poured out on them rain from the sky in abundance, and made the rivers flow under them. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and created after them other generations. 6 And even if We had sent down to you, [O Muhammad], a written scripture on a page and they touched it with their hands, the disbelievers would say, "This is not but obvious magic." 7 They say: "Why is not an angel sent down to him?" If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them. 8 Were We to have made him (Our Messenger) an angel, We would have made him resemble a human being and they would have again complained that the matter was as confusing to them as it is to them now. 9 And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule. 10
