Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
All praises and thanks be to Allah, Who (Alone) created the heavens and the earth, and originated the darkness and the light, yet those who disbelieve hold others as equal with their Lord. 1 It is He who created you from clay then determined a term (of life) for you, and a term (is fixed) with Him. Even then you doubt. 2 And He is Allah (the God) of the heavens and in the earth; He knows all, your secrets and your disclosures, and He knows your deeds. 3 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord but that therefrom they have been backsliders. 4 They belied the truth when it came to them, but there shall come to them news of that they were mocking. 5 Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them? We established them on the earth more firmly than you, and We sent the clouds over them, pouring down abundant rain; and made the rivers flow at their feet. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and raised up other generations after them. 6 If We had sent unto thee a written (message) on parchment, so that they could touch it with their hands, the Unbelievers would have been sure to say: "This is nothing but obvious magic!" 7 They say: Why hath not an angel been sent down unto him? If We sent down an angel, then the matter would be judged; no further time would be allowed them (for reflection). 8 Had We appointed an angel, We would have sent him down in the form of a man - and thus We would have caused them the same doubt which they now entertain. 9 Surely the apostles have been mocked before you; but what they had mocked rebounded on the mockers themselves. 10
