This is the reasoning We gave to Abraham against his people, We raise in rank anyone We please, your Lord is wise and aware. 83 And We gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before; and among his descendants, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the doers of good. 84 And Zakariya and John, and Jesus and Elias: all in the ranks of the righteous: 85 And Isma'il and Elisha, and Jonas, and Lot: and to all We gave favour above the nations: 86 and of their fathers, and of their seed, and of their brethren; and We elected them, and We guided them to a straight path. 87 That is God's guidance; He guides by it whom He will of His servants; had they been idolaters, it would have failed them, the things they did. 88 Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture and authority and prophethood. But if the disbelievers deny it, then We have entrusted it to a people who are not therein disbelievers. 89 Those are they whom Allah had guided, so follow thou their guidance. Say thou: no hire I ask therefor; it is but an admonition unto the worlds. 90
