A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 This is a Book sent down toward thee, so let there be no straitness in thy breast therefor, that thou mayest warn thereby! and this is an admonition unto the believers. 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 And indeed We established you in the earth and in it created for you the means of livelihood; very little thanks do you offer! 10
