A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 The Book has been sent down to you; so let your chest have no constriction because of it, in order to warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 And how many a township We have destroyed, upon them Our violence came at night or while they were taking their midday rest. 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 (Everyone's deeds) will certainly be weighed (and evaluated) on the Day of Judgment. Those whose good deeds weigh heavier than their bad deeds will have everlasting happiness. 8 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their soul for wronging Our signs. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
