A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad. 1 This is a Book sent down toward thee, so let there be no straitness in thy breast therefor, that thou mayest warn thereby! and this is an admonition unto the believers. 2 O mankind, follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow other administrators, abandoning this (the Holy Qur’an); very little do you understand. 3 Many a habitation have We laid low before: Our retribution came upon them in the night or in the midst of siesta at noon. 4 Then naught was their cry when Our violence came upon them save that they said: verily we have been the wrong-doers. 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 And indeed We established you in the earth and in it created for you the means of livelihood; very little thanks do you offer! 10
