There is not a region to which We sent a prophet and did not inflict upon its people adversity and hardship so that they may submit. 94 and then We changed their hardship into ease until they grew affluent and said, "Our fathers had also experienced adversity and prosperity," then We seized them suddenly, unawares. 95 Had the people of the villages believed and been cautious, We would have opened upon them the blessings from heaven and earth. But they belied, and We seized them for what they earned. 96 What! do the people of the towns then feel secure from Our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep? 97 Or, did the people of the towns then feel secure against the coming of Our Punishment in the forenoon while they play? 98 Do they feel secure against God's devising? No one feels secure against God's devising except for those doomed to ruin. 99
