Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 But when We changed hardship to ease, and they rose and prospered, (they forgot Our favours) and said: "Our ancestors had also known suffering and joy." So We caught them unawares. 95 And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning." 96 Do the people of these towns now feel secure against the coming of Our punishment upon them by night while they are asleep? 97 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them in daylight while they are playing? 98 Then did they feel secure from the plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people. 99
