Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24

To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if We so willed, We could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear? 100 (Muhammad), such were the stories of the people who lived in (different) towns in the past. We had sent Our Messengers to them with (certain) miracles but the people still did not believe in what they had rejected before. Such is how God seals the hearts of the unbelievers. 101 We found most of them untrue to their covenants, indeed We found most of them to be defiant. 102 Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters! 103 Moses said: "O Pharaoh! I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds,- 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 He answered: 'If you have come with a sign, show it to us if you are of the truthful' 106 At this Moses threw down his staff, and lo, it became a live serpent. 107 And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white to all beholders! 108
