The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said, "This is most surely a skillful magician, 109 who seeks to drive you from your land!" Pharaoh said, "What then do you advise?" 110 The others suggested holding Moses and his brother off and sending to all the cities 111 who should bring to you every skillful magician." 112 And the magicians came to Firaun, and said, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 113 "Yes," said he, "you will be among the honoured." 114 They said: 'Moses, will you throw first or shall we be the throwers' 115 He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell. 116 We said to Moses: "Throw down your staff;" and it swallowed up their conjurations in no time. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 So they were vanquished there, and they turned about, humbled. 119 And the magicians flung themselves prostrate. 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 the Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Said Pharaoh, 'You have believed in Him before I gave you leave. Surely this is a device you have devised in the city that you may expel its people from it. Now you shall know! 123 I will cut off your hands and feet on alternate sides and then crucify you all!" 124 They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return. 125 "But thou dost wreak thy vengeance on us simply because we believed in the Signs of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience and constancy, and take our souls unto thee as Muslims (who bow to thy will)! 126
