Believers! Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn away from him after you hear his command. 20 And be not like those who said, We hear, and they did not obey. 21 ۞ Verily the vilest of beasts with Allah are the deaf and dumb who understand not. 22 And had Allah found any goodness in them, He would have made them hear; and had He made them hear they would, in the end, have turned away and gone back. 23 O believers, respond to God and the Messenger when He calls you unto that which will give you life; and know that God stands between a man and his heart, and that to Him you shall be mustered. 24 And beware of an affliction that will not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. Know that God is severe in exacting retribution. 25 Remember, when you were few and powerless in the land, afraid of despoliation at the hands of men. But then God sheltered and helped you to strength, and provided for you good things that you may perhaps be grateful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 Know that your children and your wealth are but a temptation, and that the reward with Allah is great. 28
