Believers, obey God and His Messengers and do not turn away from Him when you hear (His commands). 20 Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: 21 ۞ For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are the deaf and the dumb,- those who understand not. 22 If God had seen any good in them He would surely have made them hear. Now even if He makes them hear they will turn away (in obduracy). 23 O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered. 24 And fear the trial that shall not afflict those alone who among you do wrong; and know that verily Allah is severe in chastising. 25 And remember when you were few and were reckoned weak in the land, and were afraid that men might kidnap you, but He provided a safe place for you, strengthened you with His Help, and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 And know that your wealth and your children are a test, and that with Allah is an immense reward. 28
