If they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do!" 41 Some of them listen to you: But can you make the deaf hear who do not understand a thing? 42 And of them are some who look at thee, so canst thou guide the blind, even though they see not? 43 Surely God does not wrong anyone; they wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will raise all of them together, as if they had never stayed on earth except for a moment during the day, they will recognise one another; for completely ruined are those who denied the meeting with Allah and were not on guidance. 45 Whether We let you see (during your lifetime) some of the chastisement with which We threaten them, or We call you unto Us (before the chastisement strikes them), in any case they are bound to return to Us. Allah is witness to all what they do. 46 And in every nation was a Noble Messenger (from Allah); so when their Noble Messenger came to them, they were judged with fairness, and they were not wronged. 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 Say, "I have no control over any harm or benefit to myself, except by the will of God. For every people, however, there is an appointed term. When the end of their term arrives, they cannot postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it." 49 Say: "Have you ever considered [how you would feel] if His chastisement were to befall you by night or by day? What could there be in that prospect that people lost in sin should wish to hasten? 50 And when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? What! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on. 51 Then it shall be said to those who were unjust: Taste abiding chastisement; you are not requited except for what you earned. 52 They ask you to tell them if it is true. Say: 'Yes, by my Lord! It is true, and you cannot frustrate it' 53
