If they call you a liar, tell them, "Let each one of us follow his own way. You will not be responsible for what I do and I will not be responsible for what you do". 41 Among them are some who (pretend to) listen to thee: But canst thou make the deaf to hear,- even though they are without understanding? 42 And some of them look unto thee; what, wilt thou then guide the blind, though they do not see? 43 Verily, God does not do the least wrong unto men, but it is men who wrong themselves. 44 And of the Day whereon He shall gather them, as though they had tarried not save an hour of the day they shall mutually recognize. Lost surely are those who belie the meeting with Allah and they were not such as to be guided. 45 And whether We show you some of what We promise them, [O Muhammad], or We take you in death, to Us is their return; then, [either way], Allah is a witness concerning what they are doing 46 And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged 47 And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 Say thou: I own not any power of hurt or benefit unto myself, save that which Allah may will. For each community is a term; when their term hath arrived, not an hour can they stay behind nor can they advance. 49 Say: "Do ye see,- if His punishment should come to you by night or by day,- what portion of it would the sinners wish to hasten? 50 “So will you believe it only when it has occurred? What! You believe in it now, whereas you were impatient* for it before? (* Eagerly demanding for it to occur.) 51 Then it shall be said to the evildoers: 'Taste the punishment of eternity! Shall you be recompensed except according to what you earned' 52 And they ask you “Is it a reality*?” Say, “Yes, by oath of my Lord, indeed surely it is a reality, and you will not be able to escape.” (* The punishment of the hereafter.) 53
