If they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do!" 41 Some of them listen to you. But can you make the deaf hear you, even though they cannot understand? 42 And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see? 43 Verily, God does not do the least wrong unto men, but it is men who wrong themselves. 44 And on the Day when He will gather them, [it will be] as if they had not remained [in the world] but an hour of the day, [and] they will know each other. Those will have lost who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided 45 Whether We show thee a part of that We promise them, or We call thee unto Us, to Us they shall return; then God is witness of the things they do 46 Every nation has its Messenger. Then, when their Messenger comes the matter is justly decided between them; they are not wronged. 47 They say: "When will this promise come to pass,- if ye speak the truth?" 48 Say: I have no power to hurt or benefit myself, save that which Allah willeth. For every nation there is an appointed time. When their time cometh, then they cannot put it off an hour, nor hasten (it). 49 Say, "Have you considered: if His punishment should come to you by night or by day - for which [aspect] of it would the criminals be impatient?" 50 "Would ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on!' 51 The unjust will be told, "Suffer the everlasting torment. Do you expect a recompense other than what you deserve? 52 They ask you if what you say is true? Tell them: 'Yes, by my Lord, this is altogether true, and you have no power to prevent the chastisement from befalling.' 53
