And to Ad (We sent) their brother Hud. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He; you are nothing but forgers (of lies). 50 O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason? 51 O My people! ask forgiveness of your Lord, then repent toward Him; He will send the heaven upon you pouring, and He will add you strength upon your strength, and turn not away as guilty ones. 52 They say: O Hud! thou hast not brought us an evidence, and we are not going to abandon our gods for thy saying, nor are we going to be believers in thee. 53 We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil." He said, "Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allah 54 "Other gods as partners! so scheme (your worst) against me, all of you, and give me no respite. 55 I have put my trust in Allah, Who is my Lord and your Lord. There is no moving creature which He does not hold by its forelock. Surely, My Lord is on the straight path. 56 But if they turn away, [say], "I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian." 57 And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment. 58 Such was Aad. They disbelieved the verses of their Lord, rebelled against His Messengers, and did the bidding of every rebellious tyrant. 59 They were overtaken by a curse in this world, and (they shall be cursed) on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, Aad disbelieved in their Lord. Gone are Aad, the nation of Hood. 60
