And we sent Moses, with Our Clear (Signs) and an authority manifest, 96 to Pharaoh and his Council. But they followed the command of Pharaoh, and Pharaoh's command was not right minded. 97 He will go ahead of his people on the Day of Resurrection, and will lead them into the Fire, and evil indeed is the place to which they are led. 98 And a curse followed them in the world, and on the Day of Resurrection; what a wretched gift is what they received. 99 That is (something) of the tidings of the townships (which were destroyed of old). We relate it unto thee (Muhammad). Some of them are standing and some (already) reaped. 100 We were not unjust to them but they were unjust to themselves. The idols which they worshipped instead of God were of no help to them when Our decree came to pass. The idols only brought about their destruction. 101 Such is the chastisement of thy Lord when He chastises communities in the midst of their wrong: grievous, indeed, and severe is His chastisement. 102 Indeed in that (there) is a sure lesson for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter. That is a Day whereon mankind will be gathered together, and that is a Day when all (the dwellers of the heavens and the earth) will be present. 103 And We defer it not but to a term determined. 104 On the day when it cometh no soul will speak except by His permission; some among them will be wretched, (others) glad. 105 As for the wretched, they shall be in the Fire, and in it they shall sigh and groan. 106 therein to abide as long as the heavens and the earth endure - unless thy Sustainer wills it otherwise: for, verily, thy Sustainer is a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 107 ۞ And as for those who will be glad (that day) they will be in the Garden, abiding there so long as the heavens and the earth endure save for that which thy Lord willeth: a gift unfailing. 108 So be not thou in dubitation concerning that which these people worship. They worship not save as their fathers worshipped afore; and verily We will repay unto them in full their portion, undiminished. 109
