And [subsequently] the king said, "Indeed, I have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows being eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry. O eminent ones, explain to me my vision, if you should interpret visions." 43 'A hotchpotch of nightmares!' they said. 'We know nothing of the interpretation of nightmares.' 44 Then the man who was released (one of the two who were in prison), now at length remembered and said: "I will tell you its interpretation, so send me forth." 45 Yusuf, O saint! give an answer unto us in regard to seven fat kine which seven lean ones are devouring and seven green corn-ears and seven others dry; haply I may return unto the people; haply they may learn. 46 He said, “You will cultivate for seven years continuously; so leave all that you harvest in the ear, except a little which you eat.” 47 Then there will come seven years of hardship which will consume the grain you had laid up against them, except a little you may have stored away. 48 Then there will come after that a year in which people shall have rain and in which they shall press (grapes). 49
