And the king said: Surely I see seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured; and seven green ears and (seven) others dry: O chiefs! explain to me my dream, if you can interpret the dream. 43 They said: "Mixed up false dreams and we are not skilled in the interpretation of dreams." 44 Then one of the two men who had been released and who, after a long time, remembered, said, "I shall tell you its interpretation; therefore, give me leave to go [to Joseph in prison]." 45 (And coming to the prison) he said: "O Joseph the truthful, tell us (the meaning of) seven fat cows being devoured by seven lean ones, and seven green ears of corn and seven seared, that I may go back to the people and tell them." 46 He said: "Sow as usual for seven years, and after reaping leave the corn in the ears, except the little you need for food. 47 "Then will come after that, seven hard (years), which will devour what you have laid by in advance for them, (all) except a little of that which you have guarded (stored). 48 Then there will be a year with plenty of rain and people will have sufficient milk and other produce." 49
