The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). 2 Who believe in the Unknown and fulfil their devotional obligations, and spend in charity of what We have given them; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful. 5 BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - it is all one to them whether thou warnest them or dost not warn them: they will not believe. 6 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing and there is a covering over their eyes, and there is a great punishment for them. 7
