The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 2 Who believe in the unseen and establish the (daily) prayer; who spend out of what We have provided them. 3 And who believe in this (Qur’an) which has been sent down upon you, O beloved Prophet, (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) and what was sent down before you; and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 5 Those who disbelieve, whether you forewarn them or not, they will not believe. 6 Allah has sealed up their hearts and ears and a covering has fallen over their eyes, and they have incurred the severest punishment. 7
