The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). 2 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, 3 And who believe in (the Quran and the Sunnah) which has been sent down (revealed) to you (Muhammad Peace be upon him) and in [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] which were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.). 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 God has sealed their hearts and their ears, and over their eyes there is a covering. They will have a terrible punishment. 7

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
