And recall what time Ibrahim said: my Lord! make this city secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping the idols. 35 My Lord they have led many people astray. Whosoever follows me belongs to me. Whosoever rebels against me, You are surely Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 36 "Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley near your Sacred House so that they could be steadfast in prayer. Lord, fill the hearts of the people with love for them and produce fruits for their sustenance so that they may give thanks. 37 “O our Lord! You know what we hide and what we disclose; and nothing is hidden from Allah, neither in the earth nor in the heavens.” 38 Praise be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Ismail and Ishaq; most surely my Lord is the Hearer of prayer: 39 [hence,] O my Sustainer, cause me and [some] of my offspring to remain constant in prayer! "And O our Sustainer, accept this my prayer: 40 Our Lord! forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day whereon will be set up the reckoning. 41
