And when Abraham said, 'My Lord, make this land secure, and turn me and my sons away from serving idols; 35 "O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind; He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 36 Our Lord! Lo! I have settled some of my posterity in an uncultivable valley near unto Thy holy House, our Lord! that they may establish proper worship; so incline some hearts of men that they may yearn toward them, and provide Thou them with fruits in order that they may be thankful. 37 “O our Lord! You know what we hide and what we disclose; and nothing is hidden from Allah, neither in the earth nor in the heavens.” 38 It is only God who deserves all praise. I praise Him for His giving me my sons Ishmael and Isaac during my old age. My Lord, certainly, hears all prayers. 39 Lord, grant that I may keep up the prayer, and so may my offspring. My Lord, accept my prayer. 40 Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents and believers on the day when the account is cast. 41
