(Muhammad), do not think that God is unaware of what the unjust people do. He only gives them a respite until the day when the eyes will stare fixedly, 42 As they come hurrying on in fear, their heads upraised, their gaze returning not to them, and their hearts as air. 43 And warn thou mankind of the Day whereon the torment will come unto them; then those who have done wrong shall say: our Lord! defer us to a term near at hand we will answer Thy call and we will follow the apostles. Were ye not wont to swear afore that for you there was to be no decline? 44 You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, even though it was made clear to you how We dealt with them. We also showed you examples." 45 They hatched their plots; but these plots were all within God's knowledge. Though their plots were such as to shake the mountains, God will bring their plots to nothing. 46 So think not that Allah will fail to keep His promise to His messengers. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong). 47 On the day when the earth will be changed to other than the earth, and the heavens (also will be changed) and they will come forth unto Allah, the One, the Almighty, 48 And thou shalt see the sinners that day coupled in fetters, 49 Of molten pitch shall be their garments, their faces covered with flames, 50 That Allah may requite each soul according to that which he hath earned: verily Allah is swift in reckoning. 51 This is a sufficient exposition for the people and that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is One Allah and that those possessed of understanding may mind. 52
