The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of the Book, and a Clear Qur'an. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Leave them that they may eat and enjoy themselves and (that) hope may beguile them, for they will soon know. 3 And never did We destroy a town but it had a term made known. 4 no people can forestall their doom, nor can they delay it. 5 They say, "You to whom the Reminder [the Quran] has been sent down, you are surely possessed. 6 Why bringest thou not angels unto us, if thou art of the truthful? 7 We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated. 8 We Ourselves have revealed the Quran and We are its Protectors. 9 And indeed We sent Noble Messengers before you, to the former nations. 10 And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him. 11 Thus do We make it to enter into the hearts of the guilty; 12 They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples. 13 Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein, 14 They would certainly say: Only our eyes have been covered over, rather we are an enchanted people. 15
