Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We created mankind from clay, molded from mud, 26 And created the jinn before him, from smokeless fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 till the Day the time whereof is known [to Me alone]." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
