Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
