Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 till the appointed time. 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
