Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
