AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
