Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 whereas the invisible beings We had created, [long] before that, out of the fire of scorching winds. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
