Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
