And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
