Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 till the Day the time whereof is known [to Me alone]." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 “Indeed you do not have any power over My bondmen, except those wanderers who follow you.” (The devil is unsuccessful in tempting Allah’s chosen bondmen to commit sin.) 42 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
